The markets of Rimini are one of the most authentic experiences to get to know the area. From daily grocery shopping to clothes shopping, the markets of Rimini, its surrounding fractions, and its province are a way to experience Romagna like a local—between tradition, quality, and social life. Stalls, typical products, and a convivial atmosphere are a regular event for residents and tourists all year round.
Weekly markets in the historic centre and neighbourhoods
The weekly markets run all year round, except on Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Easter, and Easter Monday.
The main market of the city takes place every Wednesday and Saturday in the historic centre (7:00–13:00) between Piazzale Gramsci, Piazza Tre Martiri, Corso d’Augusto, Via Castelfidardo, and the Arch of Augustus. It’s one of the biggest markets in the region and offers clothes, accessories, shoes, household items, fruits, vegetables, and food specialties ranging from cheese to salami and porchetta.
Besides the main market, there’s the San Francesco indoor market (Mercato Coperto San Francesco) in Via Castelfidardo, at the corner with Via Michele Rosa. The market is open from Monday to Saturday. It has many stalls that sell fresh, local products such as fresh fish, vegetables, fruit, bread, meat, and groceries. Another must-visit is the Farmers’ market near Tiberius Bridge, every Friday morning (7:00–13:00), offering local agricultural products: fruit, vegetables, cheese, salami, honey, organic products, and km 0 wine.
The ‘Mercato Coperto’ (indoor market) of the center of Rimini is a point of reference to find typical products, fresh fish, and grocery.
In Viserba, a district north of the canal port, the indoor market (at the corner of Via Panzacchi and Via Menotti) is another landmark for daily grocery shopping. Among the year-round neighbourhood markets, Viserba’s weekly market takes place every Monday morning in the Don Tonino Bello Park area (Via Baroni – Via Cenci).
In Torre Pedrera, the food market takes place on Thursday mornings in Piazza Sacchini. To the south, in the district of Miramare, the Tuesday morning winter market is held between Via Oliveti and Via Marconi.
Summer markets along the coast
From 1 May to 30 September, the markets extend to the coastal beach resorts, bringing Rimini’s neighbourhoods and promenades to life with stalls, local products, and open-air shopping.
The summer market takes place in Viserba at Don Tonino Bello Park. On Monday evenings (18:30–23:00), the Rivabella summer market liven up Piazzale Adamello with food stalls, typical products, and local vendors.
The Tuesday morning summer market in Miramare takes place in the Viale Marconi car park. The Thursday morning market is held in Bellariva along the Lungomare G. Di Vittorio promenade, between Piazzale Gondar and Via Lagomaggio.
On Sunday mornings, Torre Pedrera hosts its non-food market along Via Sollum, Via Diredaua, Via Eritrea, Via Sirte, and Via Amba Alagi.
Special events and flea markets
A must-visit event for enthusiasts and bargain hunters is Rimini Antiqua, held every last Sunday of the month (8:30–19:00) in the historic centre (Piazza Tre Martiri, Via IV Novembre, and Corso d’Augusto), featuring antiques, vintage items, and collectibles.
In summer, Piazza Cavour hosts an antiques and artistic craft market on Friday evenings (18:00–24:00). During July and August, the city’s main square also hosts “Ricordi in soffitta” on Wednesday evenings (18:00–23:00)—a colourful and lively flea market run by children.

Promenades and seafront markets
From June to September, evening markets bring the entire Rimini coastline to life: Marina Centro, Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra, Viserba, Rivabella, and Torre Pedrera. Stalls and stands line Viale Vespucci, seafront promenades, squares, and parks, creating a widespread summer shopping experience.
Markets around the province
The wider province of Rimini also offers an extensive network of weekly markets. In Riccione, the Friday morning market (7:00–13:00) takes place around Piazza Unità, Viale Diaz, and Corso Fratelli Cervi.
To the south, Cattolica hosts its weekly market on Saturday mornings in Piazza De Curtis, while Misano Adriatico’s market takes place on Tuesdays. In the Valconca valley, San Giovanni in Marignano hosts its Monday market in the historic town centre. Further up the valley, Morciano di Romagna comes alive every Thursday morning with stalls selling everything from food to clothing.
North of Rimini, in Bellaria-Igea Marina, the market takes place on Wednesdays in Bellaria (Piazza del Popolo) and on Fridays in Igea Marina (Via Calatafimi). In the charming village of Santarcangelo di Romagna, the market is held every Monday and Friday morning around Piazza Ganganelli and the historic centre streets. Inland, in Verucchio, the Friday morning market takes place in Piazza I Maggio, in the district of Villa Verucchio.
