Let’s explore the history, champions, and technology of the racetrack with the Misano Circuit Tour: a guided experience that takes you behind the scenes of major events, through paddocks, garages, the pit lane, race control, and the champions’ podium. Led by Luca Protti, a passionate motorcycle enthusiast and expert in its history, we will experience the circuit from the inside.

We’ll retrace the milestones of the MWC’s success and relive the feats of great two-wheeled champions. Lasting about 58 minutes (the number of “Sic”), the Misano Circuit Tour is the perfect opportunity to discover the secrets of the track and feel like a rider for a day.

The tour begins at MWC Square, open daily as a meeting and leisure point with free access for everyone. Here, the tribute to the Motor Valley reminds us that motorsport is not only a passion but also a top-tier economic resource, with revenues exceeding 16 billion euros.

Around the Misano World Circuit, the myth of Riders’ Land was born—a fascinating area stretching between Romagna and the Republic of San Marino, home to great riders and an immense passion for two wheels.

Within just a few kilometers, this territory concentrates a heritage of circuits, motorcycle clubs, museums, and gatherings, all immersed in the warm Romagna hospitality. Some of the greatest champions of Italian and international motorcycling have raced here, and everything speaks of engines and high-speed thrills.

A 50-Year History

We continue into the paddocks, the beating heart of the racetrack, which host garages, conference rooms, panoramic terraces, and driving simulators: from the terrace, there is a spectacular view of the entire circuit. Over the years, the track has grown and evolved, and in the 1990s it was extended and enriched with modern facilities.

In the 2000s, it was completely renovated with larger grandstands, advanced safety systems, and a track of over 4 kilometers. On June 9, 2012, it officially became the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in memory of the champion loved worldwide.

Remembering “Sic”

We continue the journey in the Marco Simoncelli Gallery, symbol of the new generation of riders who grew up on mini bikes, and in the room dedicated to him, where photographs recount 50 years of the circuit’s history. It all began at the end of the 1960s, when engineer Umberto Cavazzuti, encouraged by Enzo Ferrari, designed the track. On August 4, 1972, the testing took place, and a few days later the track hosted its first official races, featuring legendary names such as Arturo Merzario, Vittorio Brambilla, Giacomo Agostini, and Renzo Pasolini.

Finally, the tour takes us to Race Control, the true “nervous system” of the racetrack, where everything happening on the track is monitored in real time. Today, the Misano World Circuit is not only a racing temple active nearly 300 days a year—hosting MotoGP, Superbike, and many other competitions—but also a hub of innovation and sustainability, with a state-of-the-art medical center and photovoltaic systems that reduce its environmental impact.

We also have the chance to experience the track firsthand, with an exciting ride along the 4,226 meters of the international circuit on an e-bike, or aboard the Romagna train, ideal for families or groups.
